Art Of Infinity -
Dimension Universe

Sonic
Curiosity (USA)
This release features 53
minutes of progressive space music.
Art of Infinity is: Thorsten Sudler-Mainz and Thorsten Rentsch.
Astral electronics establish an interstellar backdrop for languid melodies
comprised of stately keyboards, prairie guitar, and soft percussives. Vocals
are prevalent in a few tracks, adding specific definition to the sonic
dimensions.
There are sedate pieces, full of drifting ether and distantly twinkling
stars, but some of the songs exhibit a rhythmic presence with congenial,
uptempo beats and reasonably peppy keyboard riffs. There are even passages
of dramatic percussive demeanor, embellished by a searing space guitar that
bends notes with infinite sustains to achieve a truly cosmic tableau. In
other instances, the guitar relegates its outcry to soothing
slide-manifestations or romantic strumming, portraying a luxurious sky of
atmospheric disposition. Saxophone appears in three songs, adding some
humanistic touches to the intergalactic mood. Effects are sprinkled
throughout, enhancing the music's otherworldly flair.
With song titles like "Cosmic Rain", "Passing the
Pulsar", and "Supernova", extrastellar excursions are insured
for the audience.

In October 1996, Thorsten
Sudler-Mainz and Thorsten Rentsch travelled to a house on the Dutch coast.
In their luggage they were carrying a selection of instruments and the
vision of a new and unique music-project called ART OF INFINITY.
This proved to be the foundation stone for the debut album New Horizon
released in 2000. The two masterminds of ART OF INFINITY are musicians and
producers who realise and supplement their ideas and concepts by adding
guest musicians. Thorsten Sudler-Mainz is responsible for most of the
compositions. In addition to the keyboards he plays a wide range of
instruments and invented the style of "Spoken Words" for ART OF
INFINITY. Thorsten Rentsch plays keyboards, guitar and other instruments.
He is responsible for the overall sound. Among others, he worked together
with Eric Woolfson (Alan Parsons Project) as sound engineer
The London based Internet label "peoplesound.com" came to notice
New Horizon and promoted the album in the Internet. The track Evolution
was used as background music for a documentary film and music magazine
Eclipsed released the song Ocean in Space on the sampler The Art of
Sysyphus Vol. 17 (Sysyphus Records). In 2003 the album New Horizon was
played on the headphones on all planes of the renowned airline Aerolloyd.
In January 2004 ART OF INFINITY signed a contract with the German company
BSC Music. The second ART OF INFINITY album Dimension Universe was
released in April 2004 on the BSC main label Prudence.
While their first album New Horizon deals with the subject of genesis and
evolution, in their new album Dimension Universe the listener is going on
an endless journey into space.
